Release Notes for GASP v4.3.1

VERSION 4.3.1 NEW FEATURES

Support for flow solver and GUI on Windows XP platforms
-
Added rotating frame source terms. Allows a fixed grid
simulation of a rotating frame. This also adds time metrics and a
bc velocity. The GUI has a rotation src tab in the physical model.
Added a user specified wall velocity based on a rotation and axis.

Added periodic bcs with a more general formulation that supports
a rotated frame. User now inputs rotation angle and axis for a
periodic bc.

Added to the output option the ability to do output during a time
accurate run based on a physical time increment (not just time step)
BUG FIXES AND CORRECTIONS

Added check for xml file to exist in the wrapper

Bug fix when parsing relative paths for the thermo-chemistry
database location

Added checks to flow solver to see if the grid or solution file
exists (since both are required).

Bug fix to allow proper function of command line based replace grid and
replace soln operations due to improper checking of file version.

Fixed a bug in initializing thermo-chemistry database when
lasing source terms are used

New versions of GLib cause memory faults when new memory allocation
scheme is used. Default back to old allocation scheme in this case.

When the flow-solver is run, perform a check to make sure the xml
file exists in order to avoid cryptic error messages.

Changed how the system dtMin info is written to the aux file.
Before it only wrote the data on the active run defn.

Set widget sensitivity in the time information window correctly

In the particle tracking algorithm, limit the time step growth for
the error adapting Runge-Kutta algorithm to an order of magnitude
for stability.

Bug fix to Runge-Kutta and turbulence models using TKE (the
primitive variable for pressure was not computed correctly)

Menter SST: Coefficient fixed; affects eddy viscosity at small
omega

Define abort() to be exit(0) for windows. windows doesn't handle
abort gracefully. It tries to rerun the application and produces
numerous pop-up messages.

Win32 does not properly handle logical links. When running time accurate
simulations on Win32, copy the grid file instead of trying to make a
logical link

Bug fix for using aux zones during MPI solution output.
Caused MPI lockup when trying to compute output on zones
not currently being run.

Improve functionality, operation of zipper grids for chimera
post-processing.

Changed WENO limiting to include (u,v,w) and changed full-flux
ql,qr

Added a button to the pointwise data that allows the user to
reverse the data in the table in case the data was ordered
differently from the pointwise table. Change the turbulence
limiter default from 1 to 10,000.
