AeroSoft, Inc. is a small engineering software firm located in the Virginia Tech Corporate Research Center, in Blacksburg, Virginia. AeroSoft develops, maintains, and supports the commercial CFD application, GASP. In addition to supporting commercial engineering analysis software, AeroSoft conducts active sponsored research in the area of numerical modeling of complex physical phenomena. Specialties include modeling of high-temperature, high-speed fluid flows, as well as first-principals modeling of high energy lasers.
AeroSoft seeks qualified applicants for the position of Research Scientist in the field of computational fluid dynamics. The successful candidate will work with a team of engineers and scientists to continue development of GASP and related software. The successful candidate will also be expected to develop and maintain an active sponsored research program.
Required qualifications:
Ph.D. in engineering, physics, mathematics or related discipline,
Able to work independently and in a small-team environment,
Strong knowledge of Computational Fluid Dynamics and related numerical methods,
Working knowledge of the following programming languages: C, C++, and Fortran,
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Candidate must be a U.S. Citizen.
