Licensing Information

Different types of product licenses are available from AeroSoft. GASP Version 4, GUST Version 2, and SENSE Version 1 are all offered as binary licenses. In the near future, a GASP Version 4 source license will become available.

License Definitions

Binary License: This floating-seat license will allow anyone who can connect to the server running the license manager to run the licensed product. The number of jobs running simultaneously is limited to the number of seats purchased. Available Machines: Cray, DecAlpha, HP, IBM RS/6000, PC-Linux, and SGI. Purchasing Examples: A user has a 16-processor Cray and two 4-processor SGI's. The user buys two floating seat licenses for the Flow Solver on the SGI. Licenses are installed on the first of the two SGI's (license server). Users on the Cray and the second SGI may run the job if they have access to the first SGI machine used as the license server. A total of two Flow Solver jobs may run simultaneously. Each Flow Solver job may be running on multiple processors (e.g., Job No. 1: 16-processor on Cray, Job No. 2: 2-processor on first SGI, 4-processor on second SGI).

GASP Source Code License: The software is part binary and part open source. The software is still license managed as in the binary license case. Parts of the source code is made available for users to modify, and can be then compiled into the GASP binary.

License Upgrades

All licenses include unlimited upgrades for the duration of the license. Yearly licenses will receive unlimited upgrades during the year, while perpetual licensees will receive unlimited upgrades as long as the yearly maintenance fee is up-to-date.
